Non-Lingerie Boudoir Outfit Inspiration

Want to know a common boudoir photoshoot misconception that I encounter a lot: that you have to wear lingerie in all your boudoir photos.

Honestly…that sounds a little boring to me!

One of my favorite things about being a boudoir photographer is seeing so many different personalities, styles, and personal expressions.

Which is totally tied into outfits! Our clothing says a lot about who we are, what we value, and how we want to show up in the world.

At Embodied Art Boudoir, one of my main goals is to create a space where you can feel free to express yourself without shame or judgement. To be celebrated for who you are!

Just like I don’t put every client into the same, cookie-cutter list of poses…

I don’t expect clients to wear cookie-cutter outfits!

Of course, I LOVE seeing all the beautiful lingerie sets my clients bring in for their shoots – longlines, bralettes, garter belts, bodysuits – there’s so much fantastic variety, color, styles, and creativity in the lingerie world.

But I want to bust the misconception that you need to find 3-4 separate lingerie sets for your boudoir photoshoot (that you may never wear again, I mean you know…)

It’s not true that you can ONLY wear lingerie for your boudoir photoshoot.

You might find one great lingerie set in your closet, go out to buy one, and then bring something entirely different for your other outfits!

The options are endless – cool robes, t shirts, flannels, bodysuits, statement pants, statement jewelry, sheer scarves, just a thong, your birthday suit, the list goes on.

But I think it would be better to just show you!

Here are some of my favorite non-lingerie boudoir outfits from the past few months.
