Posing is a secret weapon in photography. It is also what causes the most nerves!

Rest assured that you don’t need to practice ahead of your photo shoot (unless, of course, you want to!) or spend time looking up different poses that you think will suit your body type.

You may be pleasantly surprised to hear that posing plus-size bodies are not all that different to posing straight-sized bodies at all!

I love a laying down moment because there is a lot of versatility with this sexy pose.

You can lay on your back or belly. I’ll direct you through different ways to move your arms, legs, and head to evoke powerful emotions and communicate with your body language.

Sitting with a long straight spine can really enhance one’s chest, back and legs AND make you feel more confident & in control. When sitting upright or with an arched back, it adds a lovely element of sexiness but also tenderness. It’s a very flattering angle!

Standing totally elongates your body. Standing poses are incredibly versatile, allowing you to lean, pose your arms and hands in a dainty or fierce way and offer a chance to work different facial poses.

We will explore the use of different poses paired with body language and facial expressions for the perfect photograph with great depth and range.

Of course, if there are areas of yourself that you feel insecure about, we can work with that. I ask that you share with me in advance to ensure your comfort throughout.

Curvy Clothing

Besides posing, what else does a model need? The perfect outfit, of course!

When it comes to outfits, the most important part is that they are the right fit and size and outfits that make you feel good and confident.

When you’re confident in what you’re wearing, the poses will come to you more naturally and you’ll feel relaxed! I always tell clients that if they don’t like an item or outfit at home…being at the studio won’t change that.

For plus-sized ladies, I recommend form-fitting items! They complement curves and are a great way to get out of your comfort zone if you aren’t used to them. Think bodysuits, tight dresses, cute matching sets, or of course, nothing at all!
