8 Things To Try On Your Personal Growth Journey
They say there are two certainties in life: death & taxes.
I want to add a third: personal evolution. As we age, change & learn throughout the years, we evolve. It is inevitable. Our personal interests adjust, our preferences transform & we become different versions of our former selves.

But the trajectory of these changes is on us. We could stay stagnant & let things just…happen. Or, throw previous passions to the wayside, or, preferably, take hold of our lives & control our personal growth journey.
Perhaps you don’t connect with “personal growth,” —that’s cool, it can be whatever you prefer: personal development, self-discovery, finding yourself, coming home… this journey is all about you & what you connect with. The goal is to propel yourself forward consistently, as you explore the details of your identity, talents & ambition. Your dreams, passions & aspirations.
It all comes together to advance your soul, mind & body simultaneously.
Things To Try Along Your Personal Journey
Here is where “personal” comes in.
It is important to listen to your heart & gut when trying different activities & things that can encourage growth.
I encourage people to remain open-minded & generous with themselves, as you may discover something surprising you didn’t know you liked or that resonates with you. Try different things until something fits!

Here are some suggestions.
- Therapy
Therapy is a wonderful way to learn your motives, & understand yourself & why you do things. Meeting with a trusted therapist can help you learn the tools you need to know to embrace, & love your true self. It can support learning coping mechanisms while being gentle to your mind.
It can take time to meet the right therapist, so when starting the process, slow down & be sure to ask questions. The right therapist will respect you, be patient with you & accept all elements of yourself while supporting your journey. They are curious & want to help, without judgment.

- Journaling
Journalling is a glorious way to express yourself. It’s a healthy habit that allows you to put your thoughts to paper without any stress or pressure.
Writing can support you deal with emotions & in turn, help manage anxiety, reduce stress, deal with depression while prioritising fears, & concerns. It can help you to understand what your triggers might be, too. Journaling can also help you simply understand yourself better. Here are 30 Journal Prompts For Personal Growth to get you started!

- Read, Read, Read!
When it comes to personal growth, some people are experts in the field, & we are able to tap into these people’s innovative ideas & concepts through their books & stories.
It allows us to experience a wide range of experiences & get inspired. Reading is learning, & you can’t do enough of it! Here are My Favorite Books for Personal Growth & Transformation

- Embracing Failure & Experimentation
Remember: perfection doesn’t exist! If we place intense pressure on ourselves, this can lead to wanting to give up on our growth due to setting unrealistic, unachievable standards.
However, when we are able to experiment in different areas of our life, we push ourselves in a healthy & realistic way. If you “fail” along the way, try & reframe it as just a stepping stone towards growth & change. People who fail often, tend to be the most successful in the long run because they are able to learn from their mistakes, make changes & finally, move on.

- Getting Comfortable With Discomfort & The Unknown
Embracing life’s discomfort & the unknowns is a necessary part of personal growth. There are many activities in life that we tend to shy away from because they make us uncomfortable, so the first step is figuring out what those are, & diving into them.
Embracing these activities is a one-way ticket to increased confidence & increased self-esteem. There are plenty of different activities you can embrace that will offer you a healthy challenge:
- Public Speaking
- A Boudoir Photoshoot
- Making new friends or going somewhere you don’t know many people
- Network
- Pursue a new business idea
- Try a new food
- Spark a healthy debate
Being open-minded & flexible in embracing the discomfort & unknown can lead to major personal growth.

- Declutter
Interesting things happen when you begin to declutter your life & space.
Consider when you walk into your kitchen & it’s a mess. Your stress will inevitably increase, & you may feel overwhelmed. When you start to clean, however, you quickly discover a sense of peace, with relief from the chaos.
This extends to other areas of your life, too. As you dive into decluttering your life, you start to carve out an intentional life, while learning about yourself.
In decluttering, we can address the habits that don’t serve us, such as procrastination & avoidance. It helps us understand our attachment to objects, why & how they serve us, & if we can let go.
Ultimately, in the process, we gently begin to notice & understand what is truly important to us, so we can start to live intentionally, & once we start living in line with those values, we obtain a sense of what we value & who we truly are.

- Community Building
The power of the community should never be underestimated. Embracing an empowering group can support increased confidence & helps build trust. It allows you to connect in a safe community to discuss all things involved in being a woman focussed on personal growth. With others on your side, you can rise in love, expression, embodiment, & creativity.
Importantly, people in your community can support you in both reaffirming & challenging your perspective. Spending time with others supports inspiration & motivation, while being there for you when you need to talk about where you are at in your growth journey.
There are plenty of ways to forge community! You can look for the following in your city or town:
- Women’s circles
- Personal development book clubs
- Spiritual communities
- Retreats
- Self-Love Lounges online/in person
- Sports clubs
- Lessons for a hobby or activity you are interested in
There are plenty of existing communities waiting to welcome you in. Or, see if any of your existing friends or family members are interested in starting one!

- Clean Up Your Social Media World
Listen, I love social media. BUT, my social media pages & online world are carefully curated, & this is 100% intentional.
I encourage you to clean up your social media world by unfollowing, unfriending (or muting!) & deleting accounts that hold you back, make you question your worth, or simply bum you out.
Would you spend time with a friend who every so often pops up in your day to tell you something cruel & unkind that makes your confidence plummet? That would be ludicrous. So why do it to yourself via social media?
Instead, seek out groups, influencers, & other accounts that lift you up, inspire you & help you in your personal growth journey.

Forever Evolving
When it comes to growth & personal change, it won’t be a linear process, & that is okay! Embrace the natural ebbs & flows of life.
Personal growth can’t be “measured” as such, but you can gauge your mood, joy & how you feel in your life. Take notes of how you are doing throughout the process, so you can reflect on how far you have come.
You are a masterpiece—capable of anything.
Which idea do you wish to pursue first!?
