Why A Boudoir Photoshoot Is Not As Scary As You May Think…

When was the last time you did something terrifying?!

Often, we only view “obvious” once-in-a-lifetime activities like bungee jumping or going on a high-speed roller coaster as terrifying and adrenaline-pumping.

While these are 100% terrifying, I also want to shout out the other activities that we perceive as scary, yet we still manage to overcome and do regularly, such as…

  • Asking someone out for a first date
  • Public speaking in front of a crowd or at work
  • Pursuing a new passion full time
  • Firmly upholding a boundary with a loved one
  • Trying a new, unique fitness class

All of these things are undoubtedly intimidating, often thanks to that critical voice in our mind & likely, imposter syndrome.

Now think about how rejuvenated, powerful & unstoppable you feel when you actually do those things!? It leads to increased self-respect, self-confidence and ultimately, self-love.

This is exactly what will happen when you get over your fear of a boudoir photoshoot, and you might just find that they are not as scary as you may think…

Reasons Why Boudoir Photoshoots Aren’t As Scary As You May Think

Reason 1: I Know What I Am Doing

Listen, I am not here to brag, but I am proud of the work, coaching and time I have put into my practice and I’m damn good at it! I am empathetic and I take an inclusive approach to my studio. I strive to make every single person that walks into my studio feel comfortable, safe & welcome.

I want you to feel & look your best throughout the session, which I can do through coaching that combines tenderness with a sprinkle of heat, allowing you to push yourselves while remaining safe and in control. I also know how to tweak the lightning & get the right shots to flatter & highlight your gorgeous, perfectly imperfect body, as it looks today. I don’t work with models, I work with “everyday” women, just like you!

Reason 2: The Pre-Shoot Guided Meditation

This one will thoroughly expel any nervous energy you are feeling! It’s also an element of the boudoir shoot that really surprises many of my clients.  I am seriously dedicated to my mediation practice, as it has significantly improved my quality of life since incorporating it more regularly.

I will guide you through the “body-peace” meditation that is dedicated to getting both of us feeling more grounded, centered, and relaxed prior to you doing your thang in front of the camera.

I want to note that if you are completely new to meditation, don’t worry! It’s a very accessible meditation, with a focus on body neutrality. The meditation will send your body waves of peace & happiness, with no pressure to “love” any part of it. I appreciate everyone is on their own unique journey.

Reason 3: You Are 100% In Charge

I am passionate about boundaries, and want the women in my studio to assert their personal ones throughout their sessions, because: they are 100% in charge!

Before the shoot, you will be sent a package detailing how to best prepare for your special day. This will include suggestions on how to pick the perfect boudoir look, what to pack, and what to expect. These are for information gathering, but you ultimately get to choose the exact outfit you want to wear to feel great, what style of shoot you want to do & if you want to opt for any extra sets

During the shoot, I will not touch your body to help pose you without your direct consent. I will never force you into uncomfortable poses or positions that do not feel natural or that don’t feel good for your body. Everybody is beautifully unique & I respect that & will never impede on your personal autonomy.

Reason 4: You’ll Have A Personal Hype Lady!

Sometimes, all we need is someone pumping our tires & hooting our horns…that will be me! I LOVE doing it. I will be there the entire shoot cheering you on, reminding you of your beauty & your worth, showing you the divine images of you as we go, and hyping you up to help you feel as great as you look.

Nerves? Don’t know her 😉

Reason 5: Professional Services

When you arrive at the studio, you will be whisked away by the friendly gals who will take care of your hair & make-up (according to your preferences & personal style). Having this taken care of helps to increase the feeling of luxury, & helps you to feel extra polished & totally pampered! Look good, feel good!
