In Conversation With A Boudoir Client!
While I strive to share an authentic taste of what a boudoir photoshoot at Embodied Art Boudoir Studio is like – who can tell it better than a client who has gone through the adventure themselves?!
For this blog, I sat down with a *real* client, Savannah, who recently came in for her first shoot. I’m beyond grateful for Savannah and for sharing about shoot honestly. I sincerely hope it can support you in visualizing what it could be like!
Let’s get into it!
“I Felt Really Valued As A Person”
“I’ve been wanting to do it for a while,” Savannah reflects, recalling her initial hesitation on doing a boudoir shoot. She searched high & low for photographers, but fate stepped in with a chance encounter with me at a bridal event that Savannah was at with her sister – it changed everything. “She seemed really cool,” Savannah recalls, sharing that her nerves quickly dissolved in my presence. What an honor!
Fast forward to the big day. Entering Embodied Art Boudoir studio, Savannah was met with a pleasant surprise, “It was very chill, very comfortable. I was really shocked.”

While Savannah’s boudoir process was initially inspired as a gift for her partner, it quickly turned into a personal celebration of her beauty. “I liked them enough to keep them for myself,“ Savannah admits.
Ahead of the shoot starting, Savannah dealt with nerves and fears, which are super normal. “I feel like this is common for anyone insecure. You’re showing off your body to practically a stranger.”
As ever, I strive to create a safe space at EAB, and I’m relieved Savannah felt that it was a judgment-free zone! “It was a judgment-free zone, and that’s something that I wasn’t expecting at all.”
I want to add here that I would never judge. Those who enter my studio are amazing souls – masterpieces! I’m genuinely in awe of everyone who comes in and want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible! You can play your own music, ease into the day and take your time. The day is 100% yours. I never book more than one shoot a day.
Savannah shared, “I appreciate it’s a whole day affair. It was all about me that day, and I felt great.”

Savannah’s Favorite Moments
Reflecting on her favorite parts of the day, Savannah noted the intentional and empowering atmosphere I created. “I really appreciated the meditation and establishing intentions! It made me feel more confident in myself. It helped me feel more playful. When I said I wanted to be sexy but still myself, Gabby helped me achieve that.”

“I was really nervous about some of the posing, but Gabby took my natural pose that I didn’t know I did, then made it more sensual! I was really nervous about some of the poses, but she was really good about that.”
I was pleased to hear Savannah share that she appreciated how much I communicated throughout. I’m serious about it! “Gabby’s like don’t arch your back, instead breathe! She has all the tips.”
Savannah said that day itself was a blend of luxury and empowerment. “I’ve never had my makeup or hair done before. I felt very bougie and luxurious!”
Supported by me and my amazing makeup/hair artist’s constant & genuine encouragement, Savannah soaked up every moment. Savannah shared she felt camaraderie and empowerment throughout the day.

She immediately spoke to her bestie about the shoot, “I shared my experience with her because we have similar body image issues. It was like a complete girl power moment.”

Self-love for Savannah
Savannah was anxious and eager to see parts of herself she rarely acknowledged, “I was really looking forward to loving parts of my body that I really didn’t like or I didn’t know that I liked. I think that was a major shock for me.”
Once she received her album, Savannah knew these photos would continue to impact her self-confidence and self-image. “It was empowering to do this experience. I felt really valued as a person.”

Thank you, Savannah!
Thank you, Savannah.
I hope Savannah’s story is a testament to the empowering potential of boudoir photography! It is a celebratory art form that embraces all beauty while fostering a profound, long-term sense of self-love.
