Feeling Cold Feet Before Your Boudoir Photoshoot? Read This!

Imagine this: it’s a few days before a client’s boudoir photoshoot and she begins to panic. I receive a late night, a panic-stricken email saying, “I actually think we should cancel,” “I have been so busy and haven’t had any time to prepare!” “I’m not sure I am the right fit for this after all,” “I can’t figure out any flattering poses…” You name it… I’ve heard it! It’s the last thing we want, and in most cases, the concerns are pretty similar! So, in any case, if you are feeling cold before Boudoir Photoshoot, we will do an effort to help you overcome any pre-shoot jitters, I’ve compiled a list below of the most common trepidations I’ve heard.

The Most Common Pre Shoot Fears

Skin Concerns: Naturally, your skin decides to misbehave the morning of your photoshoot! Always seems to be the way, right?! I think we can all agree: pimples suck!! But we won’t allow your photoshoot to suck! I retouch out of your images any temporary blemishes, pimples, spots, or bruises. It’s absolutely nothing to worry or stress about and your final photos won’t be a reminder of them.

Periods:  My studio is proudly an all-female studio, so rest assured: we fully understand the stress of menstruating on photoshoot day! I recommend starting your morning with some fresh fruit and a quiet moment with the heating pad. When you arrive, I have everything on hand from varied feminine hygiene products to extra-strength Advil. Plus, there is no problem with a bathroom break (or 20!)

Posing: Honestly, posing is one thing you definitely don’t need to worry even a little bit about! I don’t expect you to show up as a pose expert! No way! I will help you every step of the way – I will even get into the poses myself and have clients mirror me. We will work together to ensure you feel confident in every pose!

“I’m Not Photogenic”:  Um….says who?! I guarantee you will surprise yourself with how incredible you look. It’s my job to create gorgeous, flattering shots that you will love for years to come. You’ll see a deeper, more feminine, expressive side of yourself you may have never seen before. Every single photo may not be a total winner, but I assure you that most of them will be! I have never had a client who didn’t love their final photographs, and I promise you: my clients are not models! Just beautiful, fearless femmes like you!

Body Insecurities: I will always meet you where you are in your journey of self-love and self-acceptance. But I’m also gonna try to help you reach your next level! I know it’s so much easier said than done, and many of the women I have worked with are in the thick of their body-loving journey and may struggle with their personal insecurities throughout the shoot. I take everyone’s feelings extremely seriously and am passionate about ensuring everyone feels empowered, in control, and comfortable. Embodied Art Studio is proudly a body-positive boudoir studio. I will work with you to light and pose you in ways that highlight that gorgeous body in all the right angles. I will hype you up, reminding you of your power and strength while we try to tackle areas you consider “flaws.”
